Win and Gold - Gundam Seed Destiny 28

Have a break, break a nut.
Now this was a long episode. At least that’s what I thought when the ending came. It was a very eventful episode, and I liked every single bit of it. Although, an important casualty occurred, which was something I didn’t really expect to happen this early. I think this is going to mark a turning point in the further development of the story.
It goes without saying that there are many spoilers further in this post. Read at your own risk.
So, the Minerva, on their way to the port of Tarquius (presumably in the Black Sea, or wherever) gets intercepted by the Earth Alliance and Orb around Crete. Obviously outnumbered, neither Rey nor Lunamaria can’t seem to protect the already heavily damaged Minerva, while Shinn and Athrun are still struggling with Sting’s Chaos and Auel’s Abyss. And it really looked like the Minerva would go down, especially after Lunamaria got hit very badly… I swear I’d have killed someone if she had died there!! Thank god she survived there D: Then our almighty hero Kira came to ’save’ the situation again. But this time, Shinn’s Vtec kicked in, yo! and combo-breaks Kira’s streak of win. In non-/b/ speak, Shinn simply isn’t happy anymore getting his butt kicked and goes Berserk (while Kira isn’t, why, I wonder…). Seeing Kira take out half of the battlefield again, Athrun joins the fun, trying to contain Kira from doing all of his work. I won’t even mention Sting being taken out en passant like nothing by Kira, while Athrun still couldn’t do anything after a few episodes. I bet Athrun’s pissed off big time. Haha.
And then, poor Auel tries to torment Shinn a last time… But it was the other way round, and this time for good. Enemy down. That is what surprised me the most in this episode.

Counter-Terrorists win!
Very honestly, I didn’t think one of the Extended would die this early. I mean, first, Stellar is getting “abducted” if you will, by ZAFT (because of Shinn), and now Auel is dead? That’s quite a few losses at once for the Earth Alliance. I wonder how they will compensate that. Well, seeing the data sheet of the new ‘Destroy’ model circulating around, maybe Sting might become its pilot as soon as it’s complete. Since his memories of Stellar have been erased (which most probably also is going to happen with Auel’s memories), I doubt he’ll try to join the Minerva to get back to Stellar. Unless he remembers anything, who knows. Maybe he’s going to die as well soon, huh? Or would the Earth Alliance rather add a few new Extended boys and girls? (although there wasn’t anything like this in the Opening yet.) Or, other way round, Stellar will be returned to them. Which also reminds me that Kira did return Lacus to ZAFT back then… Hmm… I’d say Shinn would do it. Why, I don’t know, because Stellar would be delivered into a ZAFT laboratory? That’s what they said in the previous episode… Oh well, stay tuned.
Add another huge loss to the negative balance of the Earth Forces, Orb’s main battleship, the Takemikazuchi. Captain Todaka knew all along that the whole country was going against the true ideals of Orb, namely to remain a neutral no matter the circumstances. On many occasions had he been trying to avoid to confront the enemy, or at least to delay the clash, but that retarded violet-haired Yona kept insisting on attacking. Orders from above, they say… But in the end, his bad conscience got the upper hand of his and he did the best thing he could do, to send his crew to the Archangel (where their leader, Cagalli, was), then run the ship straight into the enemy fire and to get destroyed.

“Darn, I knew it. I forgot my anime DVDs at home…”
I really don’t accept the fact that he stayed behind alone to atone for his sins though. Good, it’s a captain’s pride, the captain stays with the sinking ship, etc. But I’m sure he definitely would have made a perfect addition to the Archangel crew. What a waaaaaaste. And as I’m watching this scene again, I remembered that it was Shinn who killed Todaka… However, it was the same guy who helped him get into PLANT, into the army… How sad. Shinn you emo bastard!
Back to Kira and Athrun. Athrun, who still can’t accept the fact that Kira’s superior than him thinks that Kira’s meddling with the war only aggravates the conflict keeps getting in the way of the Freedom. Bad choice, Kira has had it now and finally lets all of his berserker goodness out on Athrun. Bwahah that was so awesome, I really thought Kira did a Limit Break move (FF7 anyone?) No but look at what he did to Athrun’s Savior! Overkill! I doubt Athrun will be able to fly the same model again XD So much win.

Omnislash’d!
Okay! So what to expect next episode? Apparently, nothing much. I think we’re gonna check on Dullindal’s affairs, maybe his true intentions in the whole conflict, etc. Yeah, since Lacus is on her way to PLANT (where she most probably will be received in a very particular manner, I think there might be something related to this. And what, Stellar is returned to Earth Alliance? Or was that just a flashback in the preview? Aaaargh I don’t want to study physics D: I got my very last test paper on Monday. And in less than two weeks… uhhhh I can’t stop talking about that. Mou.

Ah…I always loved that scene where Saviour got dismantled. It was pure beauty lol.
