I fully played the first 6 hours of the Closed Beta tonight, and well, I must say that until now it really does make a solid impression. Then again… I know it all from Japan and Korea.

I think people expected too much of it - true, the PSquare and the new Approach mode sure are interesting, and Deep Inferno is a whole new map to explore, but… There were simply too many flaws and incomplete things - AND, which was most annoying to all of the players, the fact that most people were given a totally “random” rank. Now I’d like you to tell me if the first letter of the people’s nicks is random enough? A-L = Rookie F or A, M-R = Beginner A, S-Z = Amateur A?

Okay we all get 500k pang but we can’t buy the same things! The amas could get a caddie, good clubs, and good clothes - we beginners end up without a tutorial, ie. no papel, and since brie requires senior A we basically have no caddie (getting Pipin would mean to shoot myself in the foot, cuz I already do not have much control and accuracy -_-). Nice thinking about the predefinite ranks! And why were there only Rooks, Begs and Amas? Saw no juniors or seniors, not to mention semi-pros or above. Redefine “random”, please. That’s really nonsense, stole the fun in playing of many people.

Many missing translations, fooked up emoticons, and not functional commands… Sound glitches here and there, yay Deep Inferno music while enjoying a cute Pink Wind 3-holer. Not to mention the total absence of the highly awaited Kaz, who we most probably will have to wait for until Open Beta the earliest. And many other features… I honestly think they just wanted to shut the fanbase up for a while, because they probably have been harassed on a daily basis about when they would finally release S3! Just see all the threads that were created in their forums, and people speculating and arguing and complaining… There are way too many bugs yet. And not enough support online, I only saw two of them constantly around. Asked one what the No manner count meant, no reply (it kept rising while others were saying censored words I think - I had 0/3 in the end). Really nice.

Le sigh… Three days à 6 full hours of testing… I believe that is by far not enough. But if we can believe their words, Open Beta will be there soon after. Who knows… maybe we can finally play with OUR characters? Or maybe at least get a more SOCIABLE rank, and not to be stuck with a caddieless Kooh with Senior- clothes?

At least I could do a Power spike. Double powershots animations are always awesome. Might play some more tomorrow…

Btw, I had my first day of uni today. At first confusing because of all the new words and courses that are offered, but in the end pretty boring stuff. At least I think so now - apparently it’s quite a hard program. And now I fear that I will not take everything seriously since there is the probability that I might go to Japan after 1 semester… if I am granted the scholarship. If I ain’t, then I’d be in a pinch in case I slacked off…
But either way, it’s gonna be a chill schedule. At least I won’t have to wake up at 6-ish AM like today… But I will still have to waste two and a half hours a day on the train and on the buses. Yah, that sucks.
