Pangya Season 4 in the US - About time.

nekosasu | July 9, 2009 | 11:48 pm

About freaking time.

NTreev has announced that client downloads for Pangya Season 4 are now open. It is not playable yet, but you will be able to update your old client to (or freshly install) the new season of Korean loligolf. More info here.

I used to play Pangya extensively since Season 2, where it was still called Albatross 18 (by OGPlanet), way before the BR invasion, pang hacks, etc. I got myself up to Semi-Pro D until A18 died last March/April, then I quit playing. Too much trouble.

The way Hinano kept ranting on her blog and on twitter these past few weeks was pretty cute because endlessly naive, going over to stupid, but that is because I was in exactly the same position as her before A18 died. I had dumped hundreds of bucks into that game, I had so much fun while it lasted, yet the sloppy and greedy management by OGP increasingly poisoned my game experience ad nauseam. Looking back, I really think I was most stupid back then when I wasted my time talking and talking, believing that the game would become better. Back then, when I still cared. Just like a certain someone right now. ;) And luckily, I am over all of that now. [1]

Well, hopefully S4 will give some oldfags and pros an incentive to play again, despite the many hackers haunting the server at the moment. My old guild, still resident on the PPIrC servers [2], is hoping to recreate the GGS guild on the new platform.
I may play once in a while too, whenever I grow tired of TF2 and those noob Pyro fuckwads on public servers. If you want to play a game with me, drop me a mail or tweet. My nick there is Hisui(e14). See you on the links!

Edit: Oh and, prepare to face some bugs. LOTS OF THEM.

Footnotes (As if there wasn't enough text above already...)
  1. More like, I was warned months before the takeover that NTreev was 100x worse than OGP. Aelya, you were right. [↩]
  2. I checked today! [↩]

    haha actually I felt like you did back on OGP as well it’s just that at the time I was playing Pangya JP so I didn’t give a shit about A18 until they banned the vpn -_-;

so yea I was hoping with Ntreev it would be better (cause seriously at first it really was..) but yea things basically got progressively worse. thankfully I ONLY spent $20 here at ntreev on a Kooh PSP outfit cause I really wanted it. thats all though. I LOL @ people who spent liek $75 and are like WHAT THE HELL WHY ARE THERE SO MANY HACKERS I SPENT SO MUCH MONEY! like okay wasn’t it obvious we had hackers since 3 months ago ?_?

anyway hope to have some games with you in the future and I hope you can stop by saturday for my video shooting :3

Let’s play sometime. I hope most of the bugs are fixed as that was what turned me away from the beta before. Opening it destroyed all the programs around me x_x

Well GayGuard has a reputation for breaking running programs. The ones it always manages to mess up are mIRC (instant close) and Speedfan (unable to read temps anymore). Additionally, it totally messes with web browsers - you can’t Alt+tab and browse around, odds are that you won’t be able to read much, if anything. Until you close Pangya, of course.

There may be a lot more programs affected by GameGuard, but those are the most important ones (to me).

It has been like this since Season 2, and still is with KR and JP’s S4, so if that is the problem, do not expect it to be fixed for this Season 4 either.

I finally did it! I installed Windows and started playing Pangya.
I also saw that the Pangya PSP game was released in late June and it got some pretty good reviews.
